Leaning Tower Of Pisa

Hello Everyone. Today I am going to write about The leaning tower of Pisa which is in the City Pisa of course! Here are some facts:

  1. The Tower is also a bell tower of Pisa
  2. This tower of Pisa is famous as it is leaning on the side.
  3. This tower weights 14,500 tons
  4. this towers foundation is built on soft subsoil
  5.  the tower started leaning at the second storey
  6. The construction started at 1173 August and was completed at 1372
  7. The tower has eight stories
  8. There are 294 steps on the north side of the tower and 296 steps on the south side of the tower
  9. Germans used the tower as a lookout during World War II and the attackers did not attack the tower and cathedral as it was very beautiful just like ponte vecchio in Florence.

That is all the facts I know. Now lets move on to history.

In the early days Pisa was a popular resting place for people coming from Europe going to Jerusalem. The military fleet was also the most successful. In 1174, engineer Bonnano laid a marble foundation large enough to park about 16 Ferrari 328s in. But because there was a lot of water underground the foundation only was kept 10 feet in the ground. The tower was finally completed in 1372 almost 200 years after it began and it is still leaning. The Tower of Pisa is the churches bell tower and that is why it is named Bell tower of Pisa. The real identity of the person who built the leaning tower is still a mystery. Over the next 750 years or more , it became clear the tower was not only learning,  it was actually falling at a rate of a few millimeters per year.

The Colosseum

Good morning everyone.Today I am going to write about The Colosseum of Italy because I am actually in Rome!. This Colosseum was actually built by ten thousand Roman slaves by stone and concrete. This Colosseum was actually built between 72 AD and 80 AD(after Christ/ anno Donimi) by the Emperor Vespasian. The Colosseum is a amphitheater which means theater in the round. Did you know that the Colosseum is the largest amphitheater in the world.
Now I am going to write about the famous games in the amphitheater.

  1. Spiculus: Spiculus, another renowned gladiator of the First Century AD, enjoyed a close relationship with the evil Emperor Nero. Nero awarded him with palaces by Spiculus.
  2. Tetraites: This gladiator was originally discovered through graffiti found in 1817. This gladiator fought in style. He wielded a sword, a rectangle shield, a helmet, arm guards, and shin guards.
  3. Crixus : This gladiator is a Gallic gladiator. He is also the leader of the gladiator school. After escaping the gladiator school, he helped to fight in a slaves to help him defeat large armies by the roman.
  4. Spartacus: This gladiator was actually a Thracian soldier who had been captured and sold to become a slave. Lentulus Batiatus recognized him and he purchased him with then turning him into a gladiator.

That is some of the battles that I researched online.

Now  I am going to write about why the Colosseum is broken.  The Colosseum is broken  because of natural disasters like, earthquakes, Fire. There have also been people throughout the ages who have broken away pieces.
In the olden times the gladiators events that emperor makes sometimes has no entry fee an they give food like fruit for free. the tickets is made out of clay and the Colosseum has numbers on every gate and each ticket has the gate number that they have to go to see the gladiator battle and when there is no battle the Colosseum it is actually a meeting place to make friends or to buy stuff  just like a mall. But now it is museum. Did you know that people have waited their whole life just to get a ticket to see a gladiator battle. Did you know that in the place where there are gladiator battles, there is thirty-two trap doors and under the battle ground it is a back stage.

Some Attractions to visit in Florence

Today I am going to write about the city Florence. Florence is a city which is north Italy. Did you know Florence is the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region and is home to many masterpieces like Renaissance art and architectures.

I am going to write about what to visit in Florence in this post.

  • The Florence Cathedral
  • The Uffizi Gallery
  • Ponte Veccio
  • Palazzo Vecchio
  • Piazza della Signoria
  • The Palazzo Pitti

That is a few of the attractions that I found online. Did you know that most of this attracionns is in the Duomo of Florence.

But for this post I am only going to write about the attractions in the Duomo.

The Florence Cathedral is the main cathedral in Florence. In this cathedral I saw a big 24 hour roman clock and other passages on the walls also written in roman. On the top of the dome there was even a painting of heaven and hell. I think this paintings was painted by Donatello as he was very famous over there.

Did you know that my family waited in line for 45 minutes- 1 hour so we took turns to walk around the cathedral and my father, brother and sister went they saw a sculpture of Donatello with his mouth open with some more roman words below him. We even saw a Lind shop which sells my favorite milk chocolates.

Now I am going to write about Ponte Veccio is a bridge where there are many jewelry shops. and in one of the fountains there are lock on the fence to show the relationship of people and after they locked the lock they threw the key in to the river. Did you know in World War 2/World War II the bridge was so beautiful that they cannot destroy it.

This is all the things we saw two days ago and we are going to see more  today

Thank you for reading this post I hope you read more of my other posts
