Guppies

Guppies, one of the worlds most popular pet fish! They are a low maintenance fish because they are one of the easiest fishes to keep in the world. All you need to take care of them is:

• A tank
• Some aquatic plants
• Food
• A filter or air pump

From the list I have included aquatic plants because when they are born, they would need a place to hide so that the other adult guppies wont eat them! They are also very cheap fish and you can get about 20 guppies for only S$2.

Here are some fun facts about them!

1. They can give birth
2. babies are called fry
3. can give birth to about 20 to 60 guppies at a time
4. are also called Rainbow Fish because of its vast varieties of colors
5. Originate from South America

So far in my experience of keeping guppies, for me, they are super duper easy to keep! In the morning, I give them a pinch of some flakes and at night, I give them another pinch. This is because right now, all my guppies are still fry’s and are growing up. In my tank, there is probably at least about 20 to 30 guppies! However when it comes to cleaning, its also easy. As of now, I don’t have a net and I plan to get one on my next visit to the fish store. Without the net cleaning is just more challenging as I cannot catch the fish and transfer them to the temporary bucket of water while I clean the tank and add in new water. Instead, I have to pour out all the water until there is very little dirty water left then I can pour it into the temporary bucket. But overall, keeping them is really fun and the best part is feeding time when they all rush to get the food so as to not stay hungry!

Avatar : The Last Airbender

Avatar : The Last Airbender is a show which is created by :Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and  Aaron Ehasz. The series has 3 seasons each with around 20 episodes that are half an hour each! It was premiered on Nickelodeon in 2005 and was cancelled in 2008. It later arrived in Netflix in May this year.

The consists of 8 main characters :

• Aang
• Katara
• Sokka
• Fire Lord Ozai
• Prince Zuko (Later becomes Fire Lord)
• Appa
• Momo
•  Toph

From these my personal favorites are Aang and Momo!

After the show was cancelled, the creators made comics. They have made 8 comics so far and I am at the 4th comic. Each comic is broken in to 3 parts. Each part has around 80 pages. The show was supposed to have 4 seasons but instead, they opted into making a live-action movie which did not go so well. But after that disaster, they created another series called Legend of Korra. It is about another Avatar named Korra learning the 4 elements:

• Air
• Fire
• Water
• Earth

Just like how Aang did I haven’t watched it yet as it is going to come out on Netflix on August the 15!. Really soon, Netflix will also be releasing a live-action series and hopefully it wont be a disaster! I am really looking forward into watching and finishing all the Avatar shows and comics!

The show is like a cliff hanger, meaning that after each episode, I am really eager to watch the episode after it which is why I really like the show and comics!
