Electrical Systems

Before we start, look around your house and count just how many electrical appliances, circuits or parts are in your house. Electricity is a form of energy. It can be easily changed into other forms of energy. Electricity has two main sources-Power stations and Batteries.

Electrical Components make up electric circuits. Some common examples of electrical components are wires, batteries, switches, light bulbs. All the components must be connected properly for it to work. A circuit diagram shows how an electric circuit is set up.Circuit Diagram | MyDraw

A circuit has two formations. Series and parallel.

An electric current is the flow of negatively charged particles called electrons. The S.I unit for electrons is ampere (A). An electric current flows the path set up by the circuit. If there is a gap present, the electric current cannot flow through and an open circuit is formed. The instrument needed to measure current is called an ammeter. Ammeters must always be connected in series for it to work.
