Along with the launch of the PlayStation 5 last year on 12 November ( 19 November for other countries), Sony also released the Dualsence Controller. In the PlayStation 5’s  box there already is one controller. However, if you want to play couch games with friends or family, you will surely need an extra controller. Just take note that the price of the controller is $69.99(USD) / £59.99(EURO) / $99.99(SGD) which is pretty expensive considering that these days, games cost around $70( Euro). But, if you have the disk edition of the PlayStation 5, you can always buy second hand disks from others!

Despite its hefty price tag, the Dualsense controller also comes with some new features.

Built in Microphone

This feature is mainly for those that does not want to buy expensive headsets. Although the quality of the microphone is decent, it is still recommended that you should get a better microphone.

Adaptive Triggers

One of the biggest new features added is adaptive triggers. This basically means that the L2 and R2 triggers can have a force when you are pushing it down. For example, if a game has a bow, the developers can make the adaptive triggers come to play and the further the bow is stretched, the harder it will be for the player to push down the triggers.

Battery Life

With all the new features, games like Astro’s Playroom can really drain the life out of your controller. The battery life is slightly better compared to the DualShock 4 controller.

As of now, I have been only gotten a chance to play on my PlayStation 5 for an hour or two and these are the new features I have noticed so far.

Fun Facts

• If you look very closely, the grips of the controller has the PlayStation’s square, triangle, circle and X engraved there.
• The “share” button from the DualShock controller has been taken out and now, it is a new “create” button. When pressed, it launches a Creation Studio Tool which allows users to better edit their game clips.
