History : Operation Sook Cheng

During the period of the Japanese occupation in Singapore, there was no doubt that there was racism. For example :

  • Malays- The Japanese recommended that they work in the defense and administration of Singapore.
  • Indians- The Japanese helped the Indian immigrants in their movement to gain independence for India from the British. To do so, the Indian National Army was formed with Japanese Support.
  • The British and Chinese however, weren’t treated fairly.

The Chinese were treated terribly because many of them in Singapore wanted to return to China to help fight against the Japanese. This is when Operation Sook Cheng came about.

Operation Sook Cheng was created to clean Singapore from anti-Japanese elements. All Chinese men aged 18 to 50 years old had to report at mass screening centers to be examined by Japanese officers to determine, whether or not they were anti-Japanese.

If one clears the examination, they will be stamped with the word examined on their arm. They will then need to ensure that the stamp does not get washed off.

If one does not clear the examination, they will be brought to the Changi Beach to be executed.

Throughout this whole operation, 25 000 Chinese were estimated to be killed.

3 Separation Techniques

Magnetic Attraction

Magnetic Attraction is used to separate magnetic materials from not-magnetic materials.

Filtration

Filtration is used to separate an insoluble solid from a liquid solid mixture. This mixture is also known as a suspension.

Filtration is used quite commonly in our everyday lives. For example, the filter in fish tank and air conditioner units, washing of vegetables using sieves and making tea using teabags.

Evaporation

Another method to separate mixtures is evaporation till dryness. It is used to separate dissolved solids from a solid-liquid mixture. This method is only effective if the solid that is dissolved has a high melting point. This means that it will not melt or decompose when heated.

Light Rays

Light is a form of energy that enables us to see things around us when it enters our eyes. Light travels at high speeds in straight lines. It can travel at a speed of 300000000 meters per second in a vacuum.

There is a difference between a light ray and a light beam. A light ray has a thin line of light while a light beam has a stream of light. There are three types of beams of light. A parallel beam, a divergent beam which fan outwards and a convergent beam which merges to a point.

How do you think shadows are made? It is made when light is shone at an object and some light rays are blocked by the object while others continue to travel in straight lines. An object which will block light rays is called an opaque object. the light behind the opaque object is know as a shadow. An eclipse is also formed the same way. when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, the moon blocks the light from the sun and casts a shadow on Earth.

Electrical Systems

Before we start, look around your house and count just how many electrical appliances, circuits or parts are in your house. Electricity is a form of energy. It can be easily changed into other forms of energy. Electricity has two main sources-Power stations and Batteries.

Electrical Components make up electric circuits. Some common examples of electrical components are wires, batteries, switches, light bulbs. All the components must be connected properly for it to work. A circuit diagram shows how an electric circuit is set up.Circuit Diagram | MyDraw

A circuit has two formations. Series and parallel.

R-TECH DC Ammeter, Rs 350 /piece R.Tech Engineering India | ID: 18430105491

An electric current is the flow of negatively charged particles called electrons. The S.I unit for electrons is ampere (A). An electric current flows the path set up by the circuit. If there is a gap present, the electric current cannot flow through and an open circuit is formed. The instrument needed to measure current is called an ammeter. Ammeters must always be connected in series for it to work.

The Hypixel for Cracked Minecraft Players-Jartex

I’m pretty sure that if you’re reading this, you have Minecraft. The Cracked one, or you are just finding an alternative server to play with your friends that use Cracked Minecraft. Jartex is a Minecraft server, but instead of needing official Mojang accounts to play on, it has tweaked some of the settings on the server files these servers are usually referred to as offline servers. Now, official or not, anyone can play on the server. But if you are popular and play on these offline servers, others can use your user name and instead, impersonate you and harm your reputation.

When going on for the first time, you will be asked to register using the /register command and then when ever you login, if you are lucky, you can log in without entering your password. Most of the time, you will need to login with the /login command. After successfully logging in, you will be spawned on a island. It is really well built and that ”spawn island” has a game rule enabled so that none of the blocks can be broken.

The server has a total of 11 game modes. The most popular ones being survival, creative, bedwars and skywars. My personal favorite is bedwars!

The server also is somewhat lag-free. Usually I can speed bridge across towards my opponents bed without any problems but on some occasions, the blocks may disappear!

3 Of The Fastest Ways To Level Up in Minecraft

If you have ever played on a Minecraft survival world, I’m sure that you have encountered one of the most annoying problems while trying to get the best gear available-Not having enough levels. In this post, you will finally be able to get past this problem and get the best gear!

The first way  to get massive amounts of experience is by breeding animals. The process is quite simple. To start, just build a simple pen using fences and gates. Then bring in 2 animals using leads or by holding a piece of their food.

  • Sheep-Wheat
  • Cows-Wheat
  • Pigs-Carrot, Potatoes, Beetroots
  • Chicken-Seeds

animal farm : Minecraft

Once the animals are in the pen, breed them using the food that they eat and then you will get the XP. At first, progress will be slow, but once you breed the animals regularly, the amount of XP will increase.

The next way is by trading with villagers. If you are close to a village, then I suggest that you start a wheat farm and then trade to farmers for a profit. If you are really in great need in levels or just need that one level to get a level 30 enchant, then I suggest that you use any bones laying around in a chest, craft it into bone meal and speed up the process. At the same time, when you trade with the villagers apart from getting experience, you can also get a lot of emeralds!

And this... is why you build an Enderman XP Farm : Minecraft

The last and quickest way to gain XP is by building an ender men farm. Of course this means that you will need to beat the ender dragon first, but the amount of XP you get from this farm is by far more than any other method. To build it, you can refer to this video by BlendsCraftYT!

The 3 Most Popular Types of Cheese in the World

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word Cheese? Is it pizza? Or maybe even a sandwich with cheddar cheese! Well in this post, I will be talking about the 3 most popular types of cheese in the whole world.

Starting with cheddar. Before we begin, did you know that the cheese originates from a large village called Cheddar in Somerset, South West England! It is the most popular cheese in the United Kingdom and is second after mozzarella in the United States. Cheddar has been produced since at least the 12th century. The process of making it starts just like most cheeses. Milk is cultured. Once enough acid has developed from being cultured, rennet is added and it forms curds. After the curds are form, the watery whey is drained out so that more concentrated curds are left behind. It can be eaten plain, with crackers or in soup, sauces dips and even melted on snacks.

Next on the list is parmesan. Did you know that parmesan is lactose free? It is also rich in proteins calcium and vitamin A. Parmesan is particularly recommended to athletes, elderly, children and even toddles due to its digestibility. Just like cheddar, parmesan starts off the same, but after curds are formed, they are cooked and then pressed in to molds for several days. After the days are over, the cheese is salted in brine for about four weeks and then laid on wooden shelves to age for 14 to 18 months. You can grate it and put it over salads, pastas and spaghettis. You can even stir it in soups or put it in a burger.

Lastly but not least is mozzarella. My favorite cheese! Mozzarella is most commonly found on pizza’s and lasagna. The milk is first incubated with a whey starter containing thermophilic bacteria and then rennet is added to form the curds. The curds are then stretched, kneaded until it is smooth and then formed into round balls to make fresh mozzarella cheese.

How To Reseal a Leaking Fish Tank

Last week, I had got a new fish tank. But the problem was that it was leaking! So, based on my experience, I will be writing about how to reseal a fish tank!

Preparations:

Before we could get into the fun stuff, we need to first do some preparations to make sure that you have what is required to do the job! You will need:

Bigtools 10.5" Caulking Gun for Silicone Sealant Gun Casing Hardware Tool Glue Dispensing Gun Manual Cartridge

  1. A tube or more of silicone glue (Depending on what is the size of your fish tank)
  2. Silicone glue gun
  3. The leaking tank
  4. Tape (Optional. It is used to make the finished job neater)
  5. A well ventilated area to place the tank while waiting for it to cure.

Just a few things to note while getting this done:

  1. A spare tank to place the fishes and plants in.
  2. Making sure that the silicone glue is aquarium safe. Some brands of silicone glue contains additives that prevents beneficial bacteria to grow in that tank.

How to seal it!

To start, you can place tape on the corners and edges of the tank to make it more neater in the end, this is optional. Then apply the silicone glue on all the edges and corners. After applying the silicone glue, peel off the tape if you have kept it. Now, Just wait for about 2 days and you are ready to refill your tank again!
