Last week, I had got a new fish tank. But the problem was that it was leaking! So, based on my experience, I will be writing about how to reseal a fish tank!
Preparations:
Before we could get into the fun stuff, we need to first do some preparations to make sure that you have what is required to do the job! You will need:
- A tube or more of silicone glue (Depending on what is the size of your fish tank)
- Silicone glue gun
- The leaking tank
- Tape (Optional. It is used to make the finished job neater)
- A well ventilated area to place the tank while waiting for it to cure.
Just a few things to note while getting this done:
- A spare tank to place the fishes and plants in.
- Making sure that the silicone glue is aquarium safe. Some brands of silicone glue contains additives that prevents beneficial bacteria to grow in that tank.
How to seal it!
To start, you can place tape on the corners and edges of the tank to make it more neater in the end, this is optional. Then apply the silicone glue on all the edges and corners. After applying the silicone glue, peel off the tape if you have kept it. Now, Just wait for about 2 days and you are ready to refill your tank again!
